'Hearts and Hammers' Project helps community

Approximately 30 volunteers from Methodist Charlton Hospital participated in “Hearts and Hammers,” a one-day project held Sept. 29 to refurbish homes of persons physically or financially unable to do so themselves. Rose Simmons of the hospital’s engineering department noted that volunteers and family members worked together to accomplish their goals. Texas Star Landscaping, Myers Pest Control and Blue Lines Construction Inc. provided donations, and Charlton Methodist Food Service came out to grill lunch for all participants.
